Istanbul is very special for many things, it is where Europe and Asia shake hands, where millions of people with different ideologies live together, it is the place where mosques, churches and synagogues shine.
My friend’s loft was in Cihangir, it is the most authentic and lively place in all of Istanbul, it is a pleasure to walk through its narrow streets with the smell of essences, to eat cheaply in the street stalls while listening to the chords of the baglamas coming out of the te house or dine on the rooftops enjoying the wonderful view of the Bosporus.

I had many good gastronomic experiences, but I tell you the most interesting:
Eating breakfast on the terrace of the Güney (Galata) scrambled eggs with tomatoes and peppers called Menemen and Simit, crispy buns with sesame seeds, is something you cannot miss.
Turkish cuisine is the mother of the Kebab, you can eat it in many ways, but the most curious is the traditional Testi Kebab, which is accompanied by stewed vegetables, all in a clay pot cooked on fire, you have to break previously to eat your interior, I could enjoy it on a terrace with my friends.
Another interesting place where the locals eat is Özkonak 8, a restaurant that serves home-cooked meals that includes Manti (meat dumplings with hot yogurt sauce) and different kinds of cinnamon-dusted milk puddings, a delight!
